A (slightly modified) Noelle Set!

I’m sure you all know it by now, but just a few days ago Madalynne wrote in her blog my two favourite words in English: FREE PATTERNS! 😉  Yep, she has released for free the Noelle set: a halter bralette and a high-waisted panty pattern, and they both look so stylish and comfy!

I received the pattern earlier because I applied as a pattern tester, so I meant to sew them sooner but… sadly life got in the way and I couldn’t finish them until yesterday. And, of course, I’ve worn the complete set today because I’m super happy of how they turned out!

But first, the details: I used a polka dot mesh for the mai
n pieces of the bra and some scalloped lace for the band (and I lined it with black powernet). I also used the same fabrics for the panties: the polka dot mesh for the front and the lace for the back, which forced me to make some tweaks to the pattern.

I also changed the back of the bra, from racerback to backless, because I really needed a bra like this to go with my halter summer dresses. This alteration was really simple: I cut the back pattern piece straight, just like a rectangle, instead of following the racerback shape of the pattern. The alteration on the panties was a little more complicated, so I’ll talk about it on a following post 😉

The patterns were easy to assemble and even easier to sew together. It’s a really quick make! The fit is quite good too: the panties are spot on, but the bra band was a little big for me, so I had to take the band in by almost 1” on each side. The sizing of the bra is based on the full bust measurement but my underbust measurement is considerably smaller, so that’s why I had to make the band smaller even though the upper part of the bra fitted me well.

But, sizing issues aside, I’m really happy with this set! The pattern design is gorgeous; I love the halter, slightly sporty, neckline that looks great under tops and dresses, and the panties are really cute too. I can see a lot more Noelle sets in the near future! 😉

  2. Your version of Noelle is really pretty! I love dots so much!! 🙂
I was thinking about making a version for myself, but my lace is not wide enough and then I changed the sewing-game to sew clothes, so I haven’t made Noelle…

BTW, big news, with my husband we’re going to Barcelona!!!! In August!
Wanna meet there??? 🙂 I sure do!

    1. Thank you Réka!! I love polka dots too 🙂 I’ve been seeing some of your non-lingerie makes on your blog and they’re very pretty!

Are you coming to Barcelona??!!!!!! That’s great!! I’ll be on holidays for about 5 days at the end of August, but I’m in Barcelona for the rest of the month. Email me so we can set a date to meet! 😛

  3. Oh this is SO cute! I love the lace that you used for that back of the panties, and mixed with polka dots is just perfect! Sorry for such a late comment! I’ve been on lazy summer time 😛

    1. Thank you, Erin!! I still have plenty of that lace, so expect to see it again and again! 😉
And enjoy the summer!! I had to work last month, so yesterday was my first real day of holidays. Yay! 😛
