Cool Lingerie Stuff from around the Web

I don’t usually do this kind of ‘compilation’ posts, but this week I’ve found a lot of great lingerie-related things out there, and I couldn’t resist to share them with you! 🙂

First: the new issue of Seamwork (my favourite monthly sewing magazine) is out, and it’s called “The Intimate Issue” for a reason: it focuses on lingerie and loungewear! I particularly loved the “Behind the Seams” section this month (all about a GORGEOUS vintage silk slip!), and a great article about… corset-making! (with some amazing pictures –Yay!). Also, there’s a really interesting piece about how to make lingerie from fabric straps: it gives some great ideas! Also, the rest of the articles are worth reading too. I always learn new things through Seamwork!

The gorgeous vintage slip from Seamwork!

Second: Do you remember the series of interviews that Réka is making at her blog RedHeels? Well, the second interview is published now and it features one of my favourite bra-makers: the lovely Erin, from the blog The Sewing and Life Adventures of Emerald Erin! If you’d like to know more about her, go to Réka’s blog and check the interview 😉

Third: I’m sure you’ve heard of the Best Sewing Blogs Competition hosted by Madalynne. Every year, I enjoy discovering new sewing bloggers thanks to it, and this year is no exception 😉 You can vote now for the second round –I already did and I’m very pleased to see that some of my favourite blogs have made it to the run offs! And I just discovered several interesting new blogs. It’s nice to see that the online sewing community is expanding so quickly! (Somehow this blog made it to the run offs too, and I can’t believe it! I wanted to send a big THANK YOU from here to everyone that nominated it in the first round!! ^^)

Corset at the Victoria & Albert Museum Exhibition

And, last but not least: I’ve just heard that the Victoria and Albert Museum in London is going to host an exhibition about…. Lingerie!! It’s called ‘Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear’, and it lasts from 16 April 2016 to 12 March 2017. It seems really interesting!! I wish I could go, but I’m afraid that London is a bit far away from Barcelona… So, if you happen to be near London in a few months, don’t miss it! 😉

So, that’s all! But keep your eyes peeled because… tomorrow I’m blogging about my first bra of February and I promise that there’ll be lace all around! 😛

  1. So much amazing intimate things up on the web this week- isn’t it so exciting to be part of the blogging awards!! & thanks for letting me know about the new seamwork magazine! I’ll have to head over and check that out! 🙂

    1. I’m still so surprised to see my blog on the blogging awards!! And I was so happy when I saw that your blog was there too! You totally deserve it!! 😀
I love Seamwork magazine, and I think that one of the first issues was about lingerie too. It’s worth to check it out! 😉

  2. Oh nooo…. you totally ruined me by showing the Seamwork magazine! So many awesome patterns and only for 7$! And those ballerina embroidery and tutus on the slip, just wow!

    1. Hahaha I know, the magazine and the patterns are a big temptation!! 😉 I’m not subscribed myself, but I’ve purchased some of the patterns: the Oslo cardigan is one of my favourites, it’s sooooo comfy!

      1. I purchased the Paxson pullover – I love the slogan: make him one, make two for you, lol 😀 and the Moji pants- I wanna try myself out in sweaters and pants this year!
