It’s May already! And I’ve signed up for my first Me-Made-May! For those who aren’t familiar with it, Me-Made May is an initiative created by Zoe, of So Zo…What do you know?: every year she encourages every person, animal or thing who can sew to challenge themselves. During May, they should commit to wear some garments made by themselves. How many? It’s up to you (obviously, if you have to wear a uniform to work, you can’t show up wearing a colorful patchwork skirt…)
The challenge isn’t about who has more handmade clothes or who posts more photos in Instagram. The goal of Me-Made-May is to bring out of the closet all our long-forgotten-handmade-stuff and wear it. By doing so, we’ll be able to think about what we like (or not) about our handmade clothes and what can we do to make them fit to our personal style. That way, we’ll be able to sew clothes that we like and are proud to wear!
So, without further delay, there is my Me-Made May’15 pledge:
‘I, Sofía, from http://www.silverliningatelier.com/, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’15. I endeavour to wear at least 4 me-made garments each week for the duration of May 2015
